This great pic of Orlando is by him.
His latest entry brings him down to Mayenne where he is with us until may 2nd. We will go racing at Argentan tomorrow and see Polina race at Evreux on Tuesday after visiting the other members of the ecurie.

Great to have a fellow enthusiast around!

ORLANDO RETURNS

Orlando finally got back to the track at Enghien on Saturday and ran a very good race considering he hadn't raced for 7 months. He finished 6th but more important Bernard Piton reported that he retained all his desire to compete and do his job. The 'head' is still ok! However it is clear that there was still a problem in his back which is preventing him performing at 100% of his ability. The good news came today Tuesday. He came out of the race well and frisky and a visit to the vet finally detected definitively the site of the back pain. The resulting injections will work gradually and take 5-6 weeks to work fully but in the meantime he can and will keep racing... so next out on 5th at Vincennes. And the bigger news in many ways is that he is doing two jobs at the moment: Marion and Bernard decided to give him a real chance as a stallion and have all their mares (with the exception of Festina and Moonlight of course) to him.. And the first 6 have already tested in foal so he is fertile. Exciting to think that this time next year there will be 15 little Orlandos running around (all going well). Thanks for this opportunity M and B!
It was a great pleasure to take Kurt to Enghien and he will coming down to Mayenne with me as I return from a conference in Warwick and we will take in some racing and visits to Bill Green and of course Breteuil itself.
